To login to your account, enter your 'username'
and 'password' in the appropriate fields on DAPDrive's
default page. The last login name will be remembered
in a cookie. On logon DAPDrive will automatically go
to the folder you last viewed during the previous session.

Viewing Folder Contents |

DAPDrive displays the contents of you account
in a table, You can choose which properties you want
to see and how many items you want to see on the configuration
page. You can sort the
items in the folder by clicking on the subject by which
you want them sorted (size, date ,etc.). The preferred
sort order will be saved in the database. When the
cursor is placed over the file or folder icon, all
the available properties of that item (file size, date
created, modified, accessed, etc.) will be shown. To
change folders simply click on the folder name or icon.
Clicking a filename will download it, clicking the
icon is only active for some file extensions.
To perform actions on items you select them first
by checking the checkbox in front of each item. The
select box in the bottom row will select or deselect
all items.

Edit Text Files |

You can edit text files directly from DAPDrive,
for files smaller than 100Kb click on the icon next
to the file to open an edit window where you can edit
and save the text file. If your text file is larger
than 100Kb use the upload and download functions to
manipulate larger files.

Navigating Folders |
 |

You can access your folders either by clicking on
them in the table or through DAPDrive's History
List where the last 30 folders that you accessed are
stored, with the most recently visited folders appearing
at the top. Folder names that are too long are shortened
in a smart way so they will still be recognizable.
When you select an entry you will be taken there immediately.
You can disable the Input Box and History List on the configuration page.
When you click on the icon next to a folder, its properties window will
appear.

View and edit text/zip files |

 |
To view and unpack ZIP files simply click the icon
of a ZIP file and its contents will be shown in the
familiar DAPDrive style. The list contains the
name, date, size and compression ratio of each file.
You can select individual items and extract them to
the current folder.

Check the 'Include sub folders' to expand the search
to all the sub folders.

This function allows you to copy or move files directly
to any folder without having to select and open that
folder first. You can manually enter a target folder
or select one from the folder list.
Choose whether you want to copy or move the file, and click the OK button.

Copy & paste items |

This will copy selected files and folders to the DAPDrive clipboard.
To paste the selected items, navigate to the target
folder and click the "Paste" button. If the
item being copied already exists in the destination
folder, DAPDrive will add a string to prevent accidental
overwriting of an existing file, unless you delete
it first yourself.
The paste button is available only if you previously
copied items. It will paste the items from the DAPDrive clipboard
to the current folder. The icon description indicates
how many items are on the clipboard to paste.

Rename items |

 |
DAPDrive can handle normal rename or rename
of multiple files using wildcards. When you want to
rename a file or folder, select the file, press the
Rename button and enter the new name.

Share Properties and Folder

Files you wish to share with others from within
your DAPDrive account must be placed in a folder
that should be configured as a "Shared" folder.
The "Share Properties" feature is used
to configure a "Shared" folder. Check the
box to the left of the folder containing the items
you wish to share, and then click the "Share
properties" icon to open the configuration dialog
consisting of three tabs:
"General" Tab - provides general information
about the folder (name, size, number of contained
files)
"Share" Tab - allows you to configure
the folder as a "Public share" or a "DAPDrive
share" folder:
Public share - the invited user does not
have to open an account with DAPDrive. Bandwidth
costs associated with downloading/uploading of files
from/to the shared folder will be borne by the inviting
user.
DAPDrive share - the invited user have a DAPDrive account.
In this case, the bandwidth costs associated with
downloading/uploading of files from/to the shared
folder, in this case, will be borne by the invited
user.
In addition you may specify the permitted level
of sharing, including the following options:
- Whether the invited user must have an account
with DAPDrive
- Whether the invited user will have "Read
only" or "Full" access privileges
- Maximum size of files may that be uploaded by
the invited user
"Invite" Tab - This generates the URL
that must be used by invited users to access the "Shared" folder.
This URL may be emailed to an invited user directly
from Invite page.

Delete items |

You can delete single or multiple items by selecting
them and clicking on the Delete button.

Zip/Unzip selected items |

This function adds all selected files and folders
to a ZIP file in the current folder. DAPDrive will
suggest a filename that you can change.
This will unpack all selected ZIP files to the current
folder. Selected folders and file types other than
ZIP will be ignored.

Configure DAPDrive |

To configure the appearance and behavior of DAPDrive click
on the Configuration button. You can change your password,
change view settings, change the number of items per
page, etc. On this page you can also set what file
properties you want to see in the listing: Name, Type,
Size, Attributes, Modified, Created, Accessed and Short
Name.
Also you can find some useful practical information
such as Login Name, Count, Duration, Client Browser
and IP as well as Usage information how much allocated
and free Bandwidth and MB left

Create new folder |
 |
 |
Use this function to create a new sub folders inside
the current folder.

Upload to DAPDrive |
 |
 |
You can upload files to the current folder using
this function. Each file slot on the upload page can
contain one file that you can browse for on your local
computer. Click the "Upload" button to start
the upload. This may take several minutes depending
on the size of the file/s being uploaded, so be patient.
A progress bar will show how much time is left and
how much of the file has already been uploaded. The
upload is complete when the main listing refreshes,
displaying the uploaded files.

Download from DAPDrive |

Regular downloads can be performed by clicking the
file you want to download. Some file types are displayed
in the browser instead of being downloaded (e.g. TXT,
HTML, GIF).
To download multiple files select the files you want to download and
click the Download button. This packs all selected files and folders
to one Zip file called DAPDrivexxx.zip (where xxx represents the date/time)
and moves the Zip file to your download folder. Thereto start the actual
download just click on this DAPDrive Zip file. After downloading you
can use your favorite Zip program to unzip it as usual.

Create DAPDrive Webfolder |
 |
 |
Clicking on this button will create a webfolder
link to your DAPDrive account. The link will
appear on your desktop and in your 'My Network Places'
folder.
Web Folders are file folders that contain files
and other folders (directories) that show up in Windows
Explorer and can be accessed like any other folder
on your desktop, even though the actual files reside
on a remote server and are accessed across the Internet.
Web Folders can be accessed from any desktop machine,
including both Windows-based and MAC computers.
You can create a webfolder link to your DAPDrive account
and use it just as you would a regular drive on your
computer.

Log off |
 |
 |
This will log off the current DAPDrive user
and return to the login page. If NT Authentication
support is enabled it will prompt the user to close
the browser window.
